Processing

Once you have completed scanning, you can create a model.

Model Creation Procedure

The default procedure is as follows. Steps that you cannot skip are grayed out in the user interface and appears in bold in the table below.

Step What ScanApp™ does
Adjusting frames Adjusts frame positions
Aligning scans Assembles all scans into a single unit.
Optimizing scans Simultaneously optimizes the frame position across all scans, thus preparing them for further processing.
Creating model It is a process that creates a polygonal 3D model. It effectively melts and solidifies the captured and processed frames.
Cleaning up Removes extraneous fragments that might have preserved in the scene and solidified during model creation
Simplifying model Reduces the file size by decreasing the number of polygons without significantly distorting the actual 3D geometry.

Note

This version of ScanApp™ does not support applying texture to models.

Creating Model

  1. Review the Model menu and the Scan panel.

    Important

Model-creation procedure assumes that scans in the panel belongs to the same scene.

    • If you don’t want to process a specific scan or it depicts another scene, delete it by clicking the trash button
    • If you don’t want a specific step to run, clear the checkbox next to its name in the Model menu
  2. Click Create Model, a progress window will open showing the algorithm list

  3. Once the last algorithm finishes, the model will appear in the top of the Scan panel
